Cold Creek Outpatient Services Salt Lake

Outpatient Programs

Cold Creek offers two different levels of outpatient addiction treatment:

1. Day Treatment, also referred to as partial hospitalization or PHP.
2. Intensive Outpatient Treatment, often called outpatient or just IOP.

Day Treatment and Intensive Outpatient programs are similar; however Day Treatment includes more therapy. Day Treatment is Monday through Friday for 20 hours per week, while Intensive Outpatient is Monday, Wednesday, Friday for ten hours per week. Day Treatment and Intensive Outpatient are perfect for adults 18 and older who suffer from drug addiction, alcoholism or other substance abused disorders. This level of care is appropriate for individuals who require more than weekly counseling, but do not require inpatient Residential Treatment.

To qualify for outpatient treatment clients must stop using alcohol, illegal drugs, marijuana, buprenorphine, Suboxone, Methodone and other addictive prescription medications. Day treatment and outpatient clients must be able to stay clean and pass multiple random weekly drug tests while complying with the program requirements and attending all of their weekly meetings.

Most new outpatient clients start at the day treatment level of care, which typically lasts two to four weeks. After completing the day treatment program, clients transition into our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) which typically lasts 90 days. Because Cold Creek’s programs are progress based, clients transition from higher levels of care into lower levels of care after demonstrating responsibility, stability and completing program objectives and assignments. Addiction treatment is not about completing a certain number of days. Successful recovery requires overcoming past trauma and resentments, identifying and resolving thinking errors, treating mental health issues and stabilizing physical health.

Better Treatment

Cold Creek’s programs are superior because we have experienced and qualified staff providing evidence based non 12-step substance abuse treatment in a Limited Enrollment setting. This is the type of evidence based treatment is acknowledge by Columbia University and the National Institute on Drug Abuse. Evidence based treatment offers clients who are committed to change the opportunity to begin a life free of addiction. This client review from Google reflects the feelings of many of our alumni:

“I feel like Cold Creek saved my life. After a fifteen year on again off again relationship with heroin I found myself divorced with my self confidence in the toilet. My depression, anxiety and bipolar were out of control. After attending three other rehab facilities and relapsing each time, I had very little hope of anything being different. I ended up staying inpatient at Cold Creek for almost sixty days. The first big difference I noticed was how sincere the staff was compared to any of the other programs. The fact that they seemed to truly care about me and my recovery gave me hope to try one more time” Jamie M.
